Ron D. Hays, Ph.D., University of California, Los Angeles (hays@rand.org), is a Professor of Medicine in the UCLA Department of Medicine.

Ron is also a Senior Health Scientist at RAND in Santa Monica, CA. 

 

Karen Spritzer, UCLA School of Medicine (KSpritzer@mednet.ucla.edu), is an expert programmer helping to analyze KDQOL™ datasets.

 

Former Members of the KQDOL Working Group

 

William B. Carter, Ph.D., Amgen, Inc. (bc.hsr@att.com), is a long-standing member of the KDQOL Working Group.  A former employee of Amgen who directed the Pharmaco-economic Clinical Grants Program, Bill is now an independent consultant.  Bill is a former Professor, School of Public Health and Community Medicine, University of Washington.   He was one of the original developers of the Sickness Impact Profile and he has over 20 years of health services research and teaching experience.

Stephen Joel Coons, Ph.D., The University of Arizona (coons@pharmacy.arizona.edu).   Stephen is a Professor in the Division of Social and Administrative Sciences at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy.

Joel D. Kallich, Ph.D. (jkallich@charter.net) is Director of Global Health Economics, Amgen, Inc. Thousand Oaks, California.

Joel has been conducting renal outcomes research for over 9 years.  He started with the Inspector General of Health and Human Services by conducting a study on access to renal transplantation.  Then he moved to RAND and carried out several studies on access to solid organ transplanation services, cost and outcomes for Medicare's End Stage Renal Disease program, and the development work on the KDQOL™.  Joel currently manages quality of life and health economics studies for several biotechnology products in clinical development for Amgen of Thousand Oaks, California. 

Donna L. Mapes, D.N.S.C.   Donna is retired from Amgen.  She was one of the most valuable members of the KDQOL Working Group.  

Salim Mujais, M.D., Baxter Healthcare Corporation, Renal Division (mujaiss@baxter.com) , is Director of Global Clinical Development in the Renal Division.
